When you use gtk_image_set_from_icon_name the optimal size present in
the theme is picked, so this functionality is not unique to stock
items (also see below).

GtkImage can display stock items.
Are you arguing against using gtk_image_set_from_pixbuf (which I agree
is not the best idea, but we can use it temporarily) or against
exposing GtkImage as a property?
