For me, there is room for 1 or 2 more. But I understand there are different sizes and resolutions of screens. And maybe they don't fit for everyone.
If we go by this logic, does that mean Inkscape will not have any more new tools? All new features will be squeezed in with other tools? Or is there some solution on the horizon that I haven't heard about.
I've seen so many comments wishing for customizable toolboxes or control bars, but I've never looked for existing feature requests. But the user being able to re-order the tools would seems like a good solution for this. Or at least partial solution. Or, maybe the toolbox could be 2 columns wide someday? Or at least provide an option for it ?
Well anyway. It seems better to me, to have tools whose names give the user a clue what they do, than save space in the toolbox. And to make the Eraser into a slicing tool seems seems like planting a seed of confusion, which in the future will become harder and harder to resolve.
Although I certainly don't have any understanding of these things on a technical level. I was just asking so I could understand better.

I'm not sure what you mean by "toolbox pixels". Do you mean that the toolbox would need to be bigger, to make room for another icon/button?
Or is something technical that goes over my head?
