Great idea Bryce! You are good at pushing for these types of things. I think it would be good to push on footnotes, osnews and lwn.
Gnome-Look has a newspage http://www.gnome-look.org/news
Alan, can you try to get us listed there?
Might aslo be worth asking http://art.gnome.org/ for a mention as a 'featured item'
Yeah, it looks like they've not had an item for a couple months. It would be very cool to get on this page, if anyone's interested in writing a short article for Inkscape.
I realise that print publications dont usually want content that has already appeared on the web but offering to allow them to use the content might be a good way to encourage them to write an article. I sent one or two letters to some graphics magazines but got not response whatsoever, but when Inkscape 0.40 comes out I will try again and see if I can't get it included on a coverdisk somewhere.
It'd be great to see Inkscape included in a coverdisk.
The last article you wrote did pretty well, and we are in need of pushing PR to the next level while we are still in the Holiday zone to encourage more contributions.
The article you wrote was good, the interview on the Dot was even better. http://dot.kde.org/1099664490/
(While looking for other sites to suggest I submitted Inkscape.org for inclusion in the Open Directory Project (as used by Google Directory http://dmoz.org ).
Cool. We've gotten some good PR so far with 0.40. The feature article on LWN was a particularly good win. I don't know if we've gained more contributors but hopefully we'll gain one or two new developers. Guess we'll see. :-)
