Just so everyone knows, the request to tag and bundle the tarball has been made to Ted. Hopefully in the next week or so the packagers can get to work on their part. Thank you everyone for your recent fixes which make this a great bugfix release! This is a great way to start the new year!
Cheers, Josh

Adib,
I have not had a chance to test it. I can see how the change works via skimming the commit log and it seems safe enough to me. If you feel it's safe enough for 0.48.1, please commit in that branch (or if you don't have a checkout, give a "Yes" here and it will be taken care of). Thank you for fixing this! You win a million more magic "Adib fixes stuff no one else wants to" points (redeemable for full food and beverage one day when we meet).

Hey all,
Given that I'm thinking a .2 will probably be in order, this is the one bug really holding back .1 from being released at this time. https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/510618
Is anyone willing and able to look into this? If not, the only way that .1 will get out without it is to have someone pledge to fix it for 0.48.2 or 0.49 to be released (whichever makes sense in 4-6 months based on the current rate of progress). If 0.48.1 gets out without this fixed, it will not be avoidable as a fix after that... no exceptions, as unnecessarily hitting the undo-history or dirtying documents is incredibly bad practice.
I hope we have a taker.
Cheers, Josh
