thanks for the info. I stumbled today accros this info: http://www.tdragon.net/recentgcc/ when I was checking my wxwidgets releases from http://wxpack.sourceforge.net/ .
It looks that this 4.3.2 gcc is really usable and has no issues with dll and exceptions.
