The reason I bring this up is that the sooner the Inkscape SVG canvas is available, the sooner other applications (esp. GO apps) can organise themselves around incorporating it.
Well, the main problem is that most of the canvas/rendering code and its interfaces are slated for a major rewrite.
I think it would be pretty painful if we started offering an SVG canvas library whose interfaces would then be under constant flux for the next year...
Of course, what changes can be made safely without disrupting the interface depends on the granularity of the interface required. Maybe you could give us a better idea of what would be needed?
