The two problems with this are:

- Mental reenabled the cairo exporter soon after 0.45 was out, so it would be a little awkward to ask him to revert it yet another time :)

- this would make it more difficult to quickly test the progress of cairo (unless we manage to have two exporters side by side, which indeed would be the best option).
