I'm thinking we leave this as compile-time option for this release, mostly because of the Win32 issues. I think most of the server issues are issues with rate limiting on the servers. I've started working on the JEP for the protocol, so hopefully we can get that out so servers can be "Inkboard-aware" in the future.
