I'm aggrieved every time I used Gimp and saved. I curse gimp developers every time. I wish to not buy them beer. I wish not to give them cake. Eventually I patched the menu so Export is called Save and moved up. Fixed.
Personally, I'm tired of explaining how and why it was done. If you don't want to listen, there's no helping you.
I'm not convinced by your rudeness that hurting users was really the best way to go. I've read plenty and it's just not convincing.
What's ironic is that Inkscape's change would effect me much less. I work in svg and export to png. I never work in xcf and that's why it had to be patched, because xcf is rubbish at being used on the web and I never had a usecase for saving them.
