Sorry, that was my fault. It's fixed now. The blue square represents an (auxiliary) vanishing point from the 3D box tool. To save time, I have gotton used to pressing X (in order to switch to the tool) even before Inkscape has fully loaded. That's why I didn't realize the square is shown in other tools, too. Sometimes too much hurrying can be bad. :)
