This made me wonder (not that I've ever used a SUN operating system, proprietary or open, or probably ever will) if anyone has ever tried to compile Inkscape on OpenSolaris ( http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Main/ ) or its new fork Illumos ( http://www.illumos.org/ )?

Dear NeoPhyte Rep,
The Inkscape Wiki page CompilingSunSolaris has been changed on 14:17, 24 March 2011 by Reinhard, see http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CompilingSunSolaris for the current version.
On a related note: build issues on Oracle/Solaris and the required changes to sources files have been reported in
Bug #740969 build problems on Oracle "Solaris 10" X86_64 https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/740969
Maybe those changes can be integrated into the configure scripts (testing for platform?) so that compiling could be done without manually patching the files?
