We should disable it in finale releases, but I think in trunk it should be enabled so people can always see the messages that trunk generates.

There is a console helper executable named inkscape.com which pipes the I/O from inkscape.exe to the console. Is it not working?
It is, but I can't get it pinned on the taskbar. So it is more hassle to use it. OK, perhaps I am the only one who builds with -mconsole.
