Thanks, but we're more interested in the resulting SVG file, not the screenshots. Also please attach your preferences file ($HOME\Inkscape\preferences.xml), it may be useful for debugging.

There it is, When I open my saved file I get: (inkscape.exe:1748): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf-data.c: line 59 (gdk_pixbuf_new_from_data): assertion `data != NULL' failed

but the rect is shown as it is (with no fill)
