Hi,

sorry for some lacking info. I don't built Inkscape myself at the moment and I only install from the ppa. My systems are Kubuntu (KDE) 14.04 and 16.04 all two for AMD 64 and on two separated partitions.

You have not answered all my questions, and inkscape built from trunk (using
cmake and ninja) here (mageia x86-64 v6) is working fine. Nevertheless, I will
try to reproduce your problem on an Ubuntu 16.04 VBox VM.
