Hello,
I just want to suggest some cool features, maybe some exist but I don't know where.
Add jpeg export; for the moment I open gimp to export from png to jpeg.
Add size templates for biggest screen size, one by ratio: 4:3, 5:4, 16:9, etc.
Do you mean ‘predefined sizes’? Well, you're right, I don't see anyone having a standard screen resolution.
Maybe i want add these sizes in the document settings
You look like french so : Fichiers -> Propriété du document -> taille de la page Files ->properties -> size of the page in en i guess
- in addition a feature to export to several sizes from the size template
with the same ratio, with check box to select which one we want.
You probably mean ‘radio buttons’. A combobox would better fit me…
Yes that what i mean, radio buttons but several choice allowed. It's for people doing wallpaper, a typical use case can be :
start inkscape choose page size, (i only choose the biggest size of screen for one ratio)
create a wallpaper
then use the export function to choose size of screen with the same ratio i want to create
validate and inkscape produce wallpapers
What do you think about these features ?
About JPEG and other raster exports, I also wonder why they're not allowed; I suppose it's not the purpose of the project… Actually, I think JPEG is a quite weird choice for vector graphics.
I use jpeg because it's more easy (for the moment) when i use Latex.
Concerning the predefined sizes… Looking at the current long list, my first idea would be to organize it with size categories so the one we want would be really easy to find; currently, I don't see why it would be helpful to have your screen resolution in a list when you can just type the values. Having those categories, a category for screen resolutions could be nice.
Agree
Concerning the ‘ratio export’, I don't think it's so hard either to type just one of the dimensions you want…
With my previous example i hope i'm a little bit clear ^^
Is it the right place to talk about that and to do this kind of proposal?
The usual place is the bug tracker on Launchpad but it also works here.
Thx and sry for my en.
