Dear Inkscapers,<br><br>I greatly welcomed that Summer of Code is going to happen this year again, since I would like to participate this time.<br><br>I would like to develop a tool for automatic kerning -- this should adjust the position of the letters in a text to correct the spacing irregularities, to ease the reading flow and to improve readability. This is also called optical kerning. To me, this is very helpful feature and I can imagine it could be of use for other open source software as well.
<br><br>Unfortunately, this is not listed on your Project Ideas page.<br><br>What do you think? Would such a thing make sense for Inkscape and in the same time applicable for Summer of Code?<br><br>Thanks a lot for any feedback and good night!
