I'm attempting a build now as I'm writing this, so the answer may already be a moot point.
There isn't much that won't work assuming you have Gtk. I presume that Gtk+ has been ported to MacOSX, so it should (theoretically) just compile. If you are feeling up to it, send a patch of changes to make it work on MacOSX.
