Hi Shlomi,
It might be enough to glob for crash saves and offer to load them. Inkscape might have a mode for this, but I've never seen it try to.
1. If you open inkscape after a crash, offer a recover UI 2. When a file is recovered, move it to trash 3. If you're loading a file, don't offer a recover UI

One option to help mitigate this problem is to save periodic snapshots of the state of the worked documents to disk every short time interval. Is there interest in it?
