I'm up for this, especially to chime into the build system discussion. Between doing the regular builds of the svn HEAD tarball, doing random distcheck builds, and keeping an eye on the Inkscape bundle in both Debian and Ubuntu, any changes will have significant impact on stuff I'm used to doing. :)
