This machine I use KDE but I should test it on GNOME (on work).

Gdb doesn't give anything useful:P It crashes on thread or something and just shows libc calls...
Valgrind is an alternative that usually does better with such things.
... Everything went better after removing gtk-qt (this should be make to work in future. Because you can't ask to remove it from SuSE because it's installed default)
That's why we are very interested in reproducing and helping you with this. This is an issue that needed fixing for a long time but was not easy to pin down.
