I agree in principal, but I can't say that a function being "fundamental" matters as much as adding versatility to a tool, which in the end does what we want to do... empower the user. I think we should hang on to it until our nightly build situation gets sorted. The best way to figure out if it's truly valuable is to get feedback from users.

A modifier must be sufficiently fundamental and versatile to be worth
having. This one looks to me more arbitrary than fundamental.
