I'd rather not do it this way. It might be possible to some extent, but the profiles have an entirely different purpose. It would be an extremely ugly and fragile hack.
Actually... if done properly it might not be that much of a hack. Section 6 of the tutorial, "On-the-fly profiles", covers what might be a useful mechanism. http://www.littlecms.com/tutorial.txt
