So it would be neat to have this option in inkscape but is it too much to ask for http://www.gnu.org/software/plotutils/ and pstoedit be installed to have this input??
Well, currently in Inkscape we can detect for these being installed, and remove options based on whether they are installed or not. So, I don't think it would be a big deal to use them.
There is also one problem in SVG because it doesn't put fill:none in style inkscape just fills everything in black:P..
Is this an SVG compliance thing, or can we fix this in Inkscape?
I still look how good plot-svg output is but seems good enouhg to me.. Then i just have to think how to find AI7 and AI10 in ill2svg.pl;) So should we use it or not? In Gnu/Linux and *BSD (*nix) world it's easy to install but windoze is biggest problem..
I think that if we continue to use pstoedit more, it might be worth starting to ship it in our Windows package... it seems useful.
Now, I'm not sure I understood your e-mail, if we used pstoedit and plotutils, could that do all of the Illustrator importing? Or just certain versions of Illustrator?
