[Inkscape-devel] pathv_to_linear_and_cubic_beziers, only to linear?

Is there somewhere in Inkscape a function equivalent to:

pathv_to_linear_and_cubic_beziers()

which only outputs a polyline/polygon instead of a polybezier? The output format I am working on now has the former types, but not the latter.
