Hey Mental,
Could you explain what the difference is between SPObject::requestModified and SPObject::requestDisplayUpdate?
I notice that sp_stop_set() calls the former, whereas sp_marker_set() uses the latter, but looking at the code it's not clear why they are calling separate things...
(I'm trying to sort out a fix for bug #1298718)
