Well,
I got a lot more people wanting to be part of the various teams I set up on Launchpad than I expected. While, I don't think there is that much to hide in Launchpad I get the feeling that we should have some sort of policy on the two groups -- that way no one is making a decision arbitrarily.
I'm going to throw out a couple ideas, you guys rip them up:
Inkscape Bugs
I'm willing to let anyone who's interested into this group. I think with many eyes all bugs are shallow. Now, that being said I'd like to at least know who the person is and that they're not just there to be a troll. So, I'm thinking a post to the -devel mailing list? Would that be too much traffic?
Not a bad idea. For people requesting to be on the X team, I've required that they do at least some bug work before applying - this is easy to discern by clicking on their name and seeing what they've touched. If they've touched nothing, I generally ask that they do some triaging first and then reapply.
Of course, in our situation we may have people applying with vast histories in the inkscape project, that won't show up (yet) on launchpad. So a post to -devel certainly seems sensible. I don't think traffic should be a worry.
Inkscape Admin
I think that about the only thing that people in this group can do is change the description/links on the website and add people into the the bugs group. Oh, and define milestones. So again, I'm not as worried about giving away the keys to castle, but I think this should be more limited as these would be the folks implementing the policies in this discussion. I'm kinda thinking we grab the admins for SF: Mental, Bryce, Bulia and JonCruz and just leave it at that. If they need help they can ask for it. (Note: this would mean I'd remove myself from the group which I'm more than happy to do)
For SF we intentionally kept the number to 4, but lately I've been thinking that's too small, and wondering about doubling it to 8. I'd see no issue with setting launchpad to a max of 8 people. It might make sense to have the LP and SF admin team be consistent and the same folks on both, but I doubt that's a huge issue.
