Oh, and please keep one point in mind.
Inkscape is targeting being the "best SVG editor" out there. Note that it is not the "best vector editor". This is a subtle yet important point that was actually involved in the project's formation.
So we do need to remember to target people trying to "create SVG files" or "create SVG artwork" a little more when it come in conflict with "create general vector graphics".
