One more thing I forgot: there was special code (which I wrote, but it was long ago so I don't remember where it is off-hand) which passes the shortcuts that are not consumed by the dialog to the active desktop. This allowed e.g. to press +/- to zoom canvas when your fill&stroke has focus (and mouse is over it), without defocusing it. This also needs to be restored for docked dialogs.
