I've just posted the source tarball for 0.45 to sourceforge. Packagers, please create the packages from this. :-)
(Also, please consider gpg signing your release packages - there are some notes for this on the CreatingDists page in Wiki.)
It's also time for us to create the release announcement for this release. Anyone interested in helping me on this?
Bryce

I thought we waited for their to be actual packages for people to download? Shouldn't we put out call to packagers and get those live first before massive deluge of visits, ./'ing, etc?

Yup, a call went out last night. Might be good to personally contact packagers if there's a package you particularly want to see up before the announcement.
There's an autopackage version, and the windows packages have been good about appearing swiftly, so even if we don't have every package out there, I think we'll have enough for a release announcement.

Ok, I better get a cracking on the PR then so it can go out tonite...
I think we should definitely aim for getting new developers and add specific hooks into the PR/announcement for where we need help and where Inkscape is heading...now's the time... :)

OK. The Zero Install feed now lists 0.45:
http://0install.net/2006/3rd-party/Inkscape.xml
This will download and install the 0.45 autopackage (rather than the RPM used for the previous versions). You'll therefore need Zero Install version 0.25, to get support for the lzma compression format used by the .package archive.
The new version is marked as 'testing', so ensure that the 'Help test new versions' option is turned on to get it, rather than an older release.
It should work anywhere the autopackage does, but I've only tested on Debian (testing and unstable) and Ubuntu (feisty).
Please feel free to add a link to the feed from your downloads page.

Good idea. Can you please provide an HTML snippet for us to include on the download page? I'll be happy to include it.
Thanks, Bryce
