Two new contests at deviantART!
We have two new contests going over at deviantART! The first contest is for an Inkscape calendar (which has a deadline of next Monday, 12/12/05) and which we will be choosing 12 winning images. The second contest is for Inkscape T-shirt designs to help fund Inkscape development (which we have no arbitrary number of winners for, if it's good it'll probably be accepted as one of many designs).

Take a look at http://www.lulu.com/help/node/view/406#resize - we need either 13.5" x 10.25" for premium calendars or 11" x 8.5" for standard calendars (the second one i think is US Letter). But A4 is not that far off.
As we want to sell it, should not be required a certain license in the rules? Lulu.com will offer as defaults "Standard Copyright License", "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0" and "GNU Free Documentation License" but any other license can be added.

Updated to say they should aim for the larger of the two sizes, but should keep in mind that it may be resized and cropped to the second size. I made sure to mention that they should not put any essential image element close to the edges for that reason.

I did not mention any specific licenses, but did say that they would need to license it in a way that would allow for us to reproduce it for the end goal of sales to raise money for the project (it's up to them how they license it). If anyone thinks I should cite specific licenses, I will go ahead and update it.
Thanks for the suggestions Nicu!

... whoa, only a week?!

Only a week due to us wanting to make them available for people to give as holiday gifts... I don't think it's too short of a time frame due to people being able to submit existing work. It's a stretch, but is definitely doable. Should we not worry about the holidays and extend it?

Personally, I think so. I get the sense that a lot of people want to work on new pieces for it, and the existing selection of Inkscape pieces on DA seems a bit thin.
I might be interested in venturing a new piece or two myself, but if the deadline's less than a week away... no way. :/

It's also possible that you might get a lot of promising but unfinished entries with such a short deadline.
