As someone presumably responsible for posting news at inkscape.org I'd like to ask our PR crew :) if we have final text of the announcement.

Note, we no longer have an "informal" one as it was effectively the same size and just much more wordy with less content.

Illustrated review in RU is complete, EN version is in works.
Interview is an interesting idea. Only it takes a while to get it ready, judging by (lots of) experience.

Path effects [summary needed]
Extensions [summary needed]
** ScreenShots ** It would be great if we could get a few more screenshots - these are going to be reposted wide and far for different audiences... so a good opportunity to showcase a range of different features and styles... if you know someone with some stunning artwork - or something that really demonstrates a new feature - get them to submit ASAP!!!
** Release Notes ** Please, this is important! Can everyone that worked on this release take one more look over the release notes? Check: - Does it reflect your work and changes? - Does it help users understand what's changed? - Does it reveal less discoverable features? - Is there a major new feature in the release notes we haven't mentioned in the small overview? If not it should be there please add it.
If we all work on this we can get that polish on more quickly!
** PR Tip for everyone ** Check my .sig at the bottom of this email. Promote the new release every time you send an email by adding a note to your signature file.

Agreed. This is a graphics tool afterall, and a picture tells a thousand words!
