I've just uploaded the tarball for 0.44pre0. Enjoy.
I'll upload an autopackage later this evening, if time permits.

Is it possible to build and distribute a win32 binary as well? Many people use Inkscape on Windows and we could benefit from their feedback as well.
Also, please upload your key to a public keyserver (like pgp.mit.edu)!
Thanks, - Spyros Blanas

Aaron just does the official tarball; other packagers will hopefully supply binaries for the other systems.

However I could not compile the tarball itself I need to checkout the tag from SVN. There are some cxx tests missing. I will dig into next week and report in detail.
