Hi, I know the website has had a development project for a while. Is that a project that will go live this year? Is it more web support needed that is holding it up?

It's going well enough over at http://staging.inkscape.org/ where the new website is deployed. We've had some teething trouble with the service provider but that seems to have been cleared up.
Just waiting for more Inkscape users and developers to spend some time improving the content.
I think if we don't get any traction, I might call on the site to go live without all it's feature or content. The hope is that an embarrassing but functional website would encourage people to fix it.

I think I finally got the hang of posting news in this CMS. But I'm not sure how to make the same news items available in different languages.

I made a custom modification to the news plugin to add language support (a drop down, None means show to everyone) It's not the best language support, but it should be functional.
Problem is, updating the server has caused some kind of universe ripping death spasm that's taken the site offline. :-( And with no access to logs, I can't see what's wrong yet.
Hopefully OSUOSL will get back to me with the required permissions soon.
