Current 7z version of inkscape for windows
I notice on the website http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D the current windows version is 22040 but it is an exe file but creates temp files that I cannot use to overwrite my current development version. Is there one around that is in zip formant so that I could extract the contents into my current inkscape development version?
At http://inkscape.chrismorgan.info/win32-builds/ I've got 22047 as 7z and 22130 as an installer. What's the problem that you've got with the installer? I've been working on the installer and so I'd like to know of any issues you've got; you should be able to install it over the top of any another build.

I don't need a quote in my signature. It's hard enough surviving as it is without having to find a meaningful quote. Will you forgive me? Or don't you read this bit?
Just a small remark about the installer. Would it be possible to add an option for selecting/modifying a folder in "Start Menu -> All Programs" for the shortcuts to be installed to. Currently you can't do that and I prefer to have all shortcuts for graphic programs in a subfolder or so.
Otherwise I didn't have any problems, and I really like an option to include/exclude language files. Nice work.

I'd been planning on doing that, then I noticed that all it had was one shortcut, "Inkscape", so I decided to leave it as it was.
Currently you can't do that and I prefer to have all shortcuts for graphic
programs in a subfolder or so.
I tend to like it like that if there's more than one icon, for just one I don't mind... and in Vista I never go via the programs menu anyway, typing in the program name is faster.

Good, thanks. That was already there when I got to it, I just made the default no languages except the one they run the installer in.

The reason I was asking about a current 7z was because I have never installed the development version. I always just extracted a new version over an older build. I was not sure how using the installer would overwrite an older development version.

You should never simply overwrite an older install on win32 systems. This can lead to orphaned dll stuff. unexpected behaviour then ... So please uninstall before new install. The installer will start for you the uninstallation proccess upon your request.
There was a request pending to also make a link for the documentation. This would require an additional folder Inkscape in the Programs section of the start menu. In order to group the two links (launcher and documentation).
However you can also make a shortcut for your development snapshots when you uncompress to one specific directory.
