Hello everyone,
First thanks for your great work on inkscape ..... it's huge software ... i like it. Second my troubles ;) I use inkscape on ubuntu gutsy without any problem, but i would like to convert svg did by inkscape on ubuntu on an old centos 4.5 with inkscape 0.45 (RedHat ent 4). I looking for a solution since a month for installing ink 0.45 on centos4.5 without any result. You think is it possible ? compiling static ? backport ?
Really thank you for your help Rémy

You could try one of the autopackage versions of inkscape perhaps. Otherwise, building inkscape from source could be an option - see wiki.inkscape.org for details.

There seems to be something wrong with the autopackage versions, the latest available is about 3 weeks old (7 november). And for a completely opposed problem: they don't work for *new* distros (Fedora 8).
Otherwise, building inkscape from source could be an option - see wiki.inkscape.org for details.
