I realize we're close to a release, and this would effect translations, but it'd be nice if we could get this fix in. Tell me if I'm crazy :)

I imagine that if we don't fix it, Linux distros will have to distro patch it. Which would be a shame.

As a translator I personally support this, as it is almost just a splitted string (which could be manually unfuzzed by committer) and will pose a burden on packagers to patch and re-translate, or will just incourage them to keep the menu voice not-translated.
But I'd also like to hear Nicolas' opinion, first.
Cheers, Luca

Luca,
I caught Nicolas on irc, so we are going ahead with it. Change was committed in 22469. I am sorry for another last minute change, but since this affected us packaging more correctly (and saving downstream package maintainers extra work), it seemed like it was the more proper way to go.
If translators could try to get updates made by the end of the upcoming weekend (so, before the 19th in your local timezone) it would be nice. Again, sorry about this... I know for future release cycles that we need to get packaging issues (well, everything really) handled prior to string freeze.
Cheers, Josh
Hi all,
no problem for me ;)
Sincerely,
UweSch
