Thanks very much for this. Inkscape is a *brilliant* tool and I know is appreciated by many.

As a user I just want to say... thank you Inkscape team! The release is awesome.
I noticed an somewhat modified icon theme in the top screenshot on the screenshots page. Is it available somewhere?

Those icons are part of the KDE Oxygen icon theme. The GTK theme (QtCurve) automatically replaces various icons in the interface with the system ones, thus there is no Inkscape 'icons.svg' file for them.
