It's a bit sudden, could you make it proportional to distance outside the window?
It _is_ proportional - the farther you go beyond the edge, the faster you scroll. However I now added a new option.autoscrollspeed: the value of 1 gives the current speed, 0 disables autoscrolling, a value between 0 and 1 gives a slowed-down autoscrolling. Everyone please experiment and report which value works best for you, I'll set it as the default.
As for adding a delay, it's a bad idea from usability viewpoint. Anything that may make you wait is bad enough, and especially when you are doing something awkward or difficult, such as dragging. The response must be predictable and soft, but immediate.

Actually, I realised after I had posted that what I really meant was a 'gap' around the window where it doesn't scroll.
