new libraries bundle for windows requested
Hi Bob,
Here's a summary of recently discovered problems that this new bundle must address:
- it must have that gspawn-win32-helper*.exe thing without which effects now crash
- it must have at least gtk 2.10.12, because of this bugfix:
392015 Selected menu item invisible on Windows Vista
- it must have libgc compiled with LARGE_CONFIG defined, as per the instructions linked from this bug (in mental's comment):
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1803613&gr...
to remove the 0.5 Gb memory limit.
Thanks, and let me know if I forgot something!
Hi Bob,
it's me again with the same request :)
In gtk 2.12.2, they finally fixed one of the nasties windows bugs:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164537
With this fix, we will be able to default the dalogs-on-top switch to on everywhere. Now it's default-off on windows and marked "experimental" exactly because of this issue. This will be a huge relief for windows users.
Also:
In latest builds, running an effect produces a dialog saying
inkscape.exe The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
and effect fails, though inkscape keeps running. Anyone else seeing this?
Any news on this?
Bob,
any update on these issues? They are still there in the latest zip I downloaded.

(I assume you build all dlls yourself in the devlibs package?)
Thanks a lot!
