Hi all,
I've gone through all of the critical bugs (level 9) that are still open and knocked out all the ones that are still needing info or that don't lead to crashes/deadlocks/dataloss/etc. These are the bugs that remain:
1633884 make check failure in svg-color.cpp 1633685 Crash on undo connector 1630756 memory limit 1 GB 1630101 crash inkscape click in connectors network align 1624076 Crash after changing canvas size fields by click 1612057 memory limit at 1GB 1587063 Infinite loop / Deadlock on Windows 1576715 Crash when ungrouping connectors 1565938 crash in sp_font_selector_size_changed 1557355 Crash when clicking on the "Object style" button 1551606 Crash when selecting font 1547502 ** Inkscape crash when Text dialog called 1543598 Crashes when in Latin1 path name 1537529 CRASH with shape tool and popup menu mouse clicks 1503564 win2003 SP1: crash on start 1499971 detect and warn about installed libsmooth 1467137 Shrinking a pattern causes lock-up 1441003 flowRoot error with inkscape's svg
It'd be a miracle if all of these were closed prior to the 0.45 release. There is only one bug that I am truly concerned with for the release (marked ** above), but even that one is not being hit by everyone (although I suspect one of the other font bugs is a dupe of it).
What do others think? Are there any bugs above that you feel would ruin Inkscape 0.45 if we didn't fix in the release? Or any bugs that aren't listed, that you think should be?

Apologies for being absent from Inkscape work recently. The three crashes above are things for either Tim or myself to fix. Unfortunately we've been extremely busy recently working on a paper submission. We'll be done with that a week from today (the 23rd) so I won't likely get a chance to look at these bugs before then, but will make it my priority after the paper to fix them ASAP.
Cheers, Michael

Thanks very much for this list Bryce! A general note: I'd appreciate it very much if bugs that are exclusive for a certain OS could be renamed with that OS in parenthesis behind the name. E.g. "1547502 ** Inkscape crash when Text dialog called (Linux)". So if someone inspects a bug and finds it to be exclusive for one or more OS's please rename it!

By the way, I've heard reports that Inkscape 0.45pre0 runs fine on the newly released Windows Vista.
1499971 detect and warn about installed libsmooth
I made some comments on this but concerning the possibility of using relaytool to detect libsmooth. Would anyone care to comment on that? What would be the normal way of doing such a check?
