Hi all,
Just in case there's any danger of sourceforge cutting our old mailing lists, I've backed them all up onto the website server. 800MB of old mbox files.
Best Regards, Martin Owens
Thanks Martin. Great Idea!

Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Inkscape-devel mailing list Inkscape-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-devel
Could this be saved on the Internet Archive?
Also, perhaps ArchiveTeam may be interested in archiving sourceforge mailing lists in case there's really imminent danger of bulk deletion... Please considering contacting them at http://www.archiveteam.org/

Hi Felipe,
This is a great idea. Would you like to contact them?
These files are available and can be put onto the media part of the website for hosting. URLs can be given out to anyone that wants to back them up. Let me know.
Best Regards, Martin Owens
Just remember that it is only a solution for non profit material.
I was going to recommend more people use archive.org until I actually read the terms of service.
Hope that helps,

Sure! But what I was refering to implicitely is that it would be nice for you to provide them the clues on how you exported the data, since they could probably want to replicate the procedures for other sourceforge hosted mailing lists.

I'm not sure what are you referring to. What do you mean?

Sure,
wget "https://lists.sourceforge.net/mbox/$NAME" --user=$USER -- password=$PASSWORD --continue -O $NAME.mbox
This will download the mbox log, but the username and password required might be more than just any user, it maybe that only project admins can access the mbox like this.
Best Regards, Martin Owens
Thanks, Martin!
