gdkmm-2.4 -- where do I find this

I'm trying to compile inkscape on an older OS [RHEL4]. missing gdkmm. don't know where to find this and google turns up references to gtkmm.
Any ideas where to find this?

The EPEL project (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL) provides these packages for RHEL4, including inkscape itself.
