Hi all,
I recently had a problem with text that was kerned manually without me knowing it. It would probably have helped if there were some small indicator that it was 'manually kerned'. Things I can come up with: - change color of textbox when using the texttool - add small indicator to the textbox
Anybody else have an idea?
Thanks, Johan

Just select the text and you will see all kerns as overlappings or gaps in the selection rectangle.
The problem is actually not with kerned text as such but with absolute kerning ("x" attribute on tspans). Inkscape apparently is not smart enough to update the glyph positions on such text. I think it should be possible, for example by converting the absolute kerning to relative on the first edit. If relative-kerned text can be translated into positions of glyphs for rendering, then the reverse transformation (from positions of glyphs to relative offsets) should also be possible.
