To help this I can provide plenty of buggy files to play with ;-)
Scilab and other math plotting software apparently produce eps files
that pstoedit/inkscape do not like at all.
Yes, we should have a corpus of files that cause problems for Inkscape
(and/or sister programs whether valid or invalid. You might want to take
this to the testers list
