Hi,
I fail to figure out what license is used for our tutorials.
- there is no COPYING file in doc-docbook branch - no license is mentioned in XML files themselves
The reason I'm asking is that we can have a tutorial on text tool pretty soon, but I don't know what to tell the original author about license used.
Could someone make it clear please?

GPL. Can you also put a copy of the COPYING from the main inkscape codebase there? I guess we forgot to put a copy in when we split out the doc-docbook repo.
Also, it's a good point that a copyright and GPL license statement ought to go into the XML files themselves. That also should be done.

Sure, I can put a copy of COPYING in there. But... are you sure it's GPL and not FDL?

Yes, the tutorials are included in the Inkscape codebase which is GPL, so it is logical for the tutorials to also be GPL'd.
