First autobuild since Boehm and <text> fixed on Win32

Here is the first attempt at an autobuild since things started working again:
http://troi.hous.es3.titan.com/~rjamison/inkscape/builds/Inkscape0409140643....
Please let me know if it works. Thanks,
Bob

Well it launches and seemed good for most quick things I tried... however, the text tools don't work on my end. Neither typing using the text tool, or typing into the "text control" dialog. Or I could just be an ass, and you don't create text via either of those methods =)

Works OK. Text works too, just as it did yesterday. Even Symbol font works now (we had problems with it for a long time). Windows 98.

Hmmm... interesting... I tried it on XP and the text didn't work (everything else was fine, but no text)... Any thoughts?

Call me ass-hat. Closed inkscape, re-opened, tried it again and it worked. Woohoo! I closed and opened like 4 more times and it worked... so I dunno what happened on that first go 'round, but it's all good.

Potential Problem with Unicode under Win2000.
Downloaded 0409140643 tonight to test text and the new windows build. All praise to Bob and a flagon of ale for getting this running.
It opened up fine and text seems to work well on a couple of tests. I am using Arial regular as a default font. Then I started playing with some Uncode inputs. Firstly the good news-symbols come up but they do not correspond to the listed unicode symbols. Now the bad news. With a bit more playing with Unicode numbers, Inkscape crashed spectacularly with windows appearing all over the shop. Almost impossible to get out of Inkscape and when I did the screen was still full of windows and text size had changed. Had to use Alt-Ctrl-Delete to try and restore order. This was only partially successful. The desktop came up but Start button was blank as well as lower lines of shortcuts and running programs. Not a pretty sight. I had to power off and totally restart while shaking in my boots, thinking that a major system screwup had happened. Luckily everything came back up normally.
I do not know what the sequence was that caused the trouble. However, it is after midnight down here and I am certainly not doing any more fiddling with this tonight. I'll try and document it tomorrow, but I thought I'd get a note off immediately, for any other win users out there.

Well, if one must crash, it is well to do it spectacularly. If you want to do something, make sure you do it right. ;-)
Tomorrow, when you have an opportunity, could you run inkscape from Gdb.exe (there is a copy in the folder)? Just run it from a dos console: "gdb inkscape.exe" "run" crash it, then "bt"
In addition to maybe giving us some info, it will likely stop the program immediately, and prevent such a catastrophic mess.
Thanks
Bob
