New Measurement Tool in Inkscape
Hello, I'd like to let you all know that I have been working on a new tool for measuring objects in Inkscape. Here is a screencast of the tool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZKnxTO11xE
But if you checkout the development code from Bazaar , then you'll see some new things that were implemented in the tool after recording the screencast (i.e. the tool now displays angle info also).
Happy Hacking, Felipe Sanches
PS: If you find bugs prease report them and assign the bugs to me at Lauchpad bug tracker.

!!!
RFE: A toggle to keep the measurements on-canvas :)
Cheers Felipe, Johan

The only option available in the toolbar is font size. Could you add a "units" menu? I'm guessing you pick the unit from the default unit in Document preferences, but sometimes is necessary using others.

Addition RFE, easier I suppose: holding CTRL snaps the angle. (taking into account preference "/options/rotationsnapsperpi/value")
It's in the tracker for a while :)
