Coding & Technology Workshops
This session is aimed at introducing youth to Coding and Technology, and will help to develop students’ computational and critical thinking skills and show them how to create, not simply use, new technologies. Computer Science is foundational for all students, regardless of their ultimate field of study or occupation.
With the support from serval national partners the Coding Day would begin with a Plenary, featuring welcome remarks from technologist, followed by an engaging panel discussion, engineering and science professionals, current STEM students and other Youth Leadership Summit STEM event sponsors.
The discussion will center on the importance of Coding, the various ways coding can be made more accessible to young people, the benefits of a career in the field and what students can do to learn to code and pursue a career in that field.
The Plenary would be following by hands-on, topical workshops, with a focus on Coding, Technology and STEM. Each workshop will accommodate about 30 students, and could be targeted by age or gender (i.e.: middle school age, girls-only, rising college freshmen, etc.)
To date, we have Best Buy and Intel delivering content however, we NEED more workshops.
Do you have any Professionals and/or Community Outreach program that would be able to deliver coding/technology workshops to our students?
