That's pretty neat.
That feature is called "mail merge" in Word.
In American English anyway, "Direct Mailing" is a marketing term for
"junk mail" a.k.a. advertisements sent through the postal system. So
I agree "Direct Mailing" is not the best name to choose. :-)

This is on it's third version after some usage and a test by the
brazilian Inkscape community.
For now it's being used by the DebConf organization at
Argentina to make the certificates. :-)
