Yes, Krzysztof, it would be nice if DBus extensions could work in a similar manner on Windows. Does DBus actually work on Windows at all? I'd imagine that even if it did, it would be nice to have a lightweight Windows alternative for live extensions, so that the Windows people wouldn't be left out, or required to download (and compile?) extra dependencies.

Doesn't affect me directly, since I almost never use Windows, but it's nice to have things work everywhere.

That said, I plan to factor the PixelSnap code in such a way that it will work both with & without DBus in exactly the same way as far as possible.

There is a winDBus port here. It appears to be maintained. http://sourceforge.net/projects/windbus/files/

D-Bus isn't too large (a few megabytes when unpacked). I'll try to get it working once I'm done with midterm exams (next week).

Cool, thanks! Sorry, I was on vacation. As far as I know the DBus status on Windows is just "needs love" not that it won't work, it's just that it isn't all working yet.
